Sony Xperia / How to know your mobile's IMEI number?
« on: July 05, 2018, 08:05:27 AM »
Go to your dial and call *#06#* . As soon as you press last hash sign, a strange number will appear. This number is referred to as the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity). You can enter this enter at sonymobile dot come (official website for sony xperia) in drivers category to know if your cell phone needs a software update or not.
It is also used by police to track down the cell phone in case got stolen.

yes, it looks weird but totally depends on what you like most. And if you like it, who care what people think.

Lots of people struggle when it comes to connecting your mobile phone to PC to transfer photos and other files. As soon as we connect it to our laptop using data cable, it starts to charge. You can do the following steps to correct that.
Go to Settings> xperia> Connectivity
Select "MTP " for USB connection mode.
Install PC companion
Restart your phone and laptop .
Connect your phone via data cable to your laptop
Hope it will work .

Samsung Galaxy / Fast charging can sabotage your battery lifespan
« on: July 04, 2018, 12:24:23 PM »
Samsung Galaxy S10 has 4,000mAh battery but it doens't allow fast charging. Argument they present is that aggressive fast charging can sabotage your battery lifespan and it is bigger battery than the previous one so won't be needed fast charging as such.

Today, I found out that my phone was restarting itself. I solved in following way and thought to share so it might be helpful to someone out there having same problem like me.
1. Test if your phone can start in safe mode (hold down the volume button while booting, but not together with the power button).
If yes, than there is some app being installed that is creating this problem. Un-install any new app you installed and you will be okay.
2. If not, than there is some corruption in adriod OS and easiest way to recover from this would be 'Factory Reset'. I think I don't have to say that you will lose your data while doing the factory reset.

Sony Xperia / How to factory reset Sony Xperia?
« on: June 27, 2018, 10:38:21 AM »
I have been using xperia since few years now and love its sleek design.
Some time you just need to do the factory-reset your phone.
To do the factory reset -
Press and hold the Power button and the Volume Down button (located on the right edge of the device) until the Sony screen appears then release. From the System Recovery screen, select Factory Reset. Utilize the Volume buttons to scroll through the menu options and the Power button to select.

Nexus / Re: what do you think
« on: June 27, 2018, 10:35:30 AM »
These days most premium smartphone displays are excellent and both the 1920 x 1080 pixel LCD panel in the iPhone 6S Plus and 2K (2560 x 1440 pixel) AMOLED panel in the Nexus 6P are no exception to this rule. In a straight head-to-head the Nexus 6P does hold the edge. Colours are richer, blacks deeper and - if you look really closely - text is sharper as well. That said, the big win of the iPhone 6S Plus is its screen smarts.

Nexus / Re: Nexus 4 is very hot near the camera sensor?
« on: June 27, 2018, 10:27:58 AM »
Every smartphone will heat up  if you use it for extended periods of time, or run intensive games or apps, but it shouldn’t get uncomfortably hot.
Do you have something running in the background accessing the camera? Check the applications having access to the camera?

Nexus / Re: Battery life ?
« on: June 27, 2018, 10:26:33 AM »
A 15 minute call drained just 2% away. The Nexus 5 battery is rated at 2,300mAh, a bit lower than the Galaxy S4's 2,600mAh battery. Our 90 minute video NyanGareth battery test, with the screen at full brightness, knocked the Nexus 5 from fully-charged down to 74%.

I think the best source for that information is Safelink customer service. They either have a list of recommended phones or can tell you the requirements for your new phone, so you can take those into account.
Why wasn't it compatible?
I agree with Creed.
Some of the safelink compatible phones are
Tracfone Alcatel Onetouch Sonic LTE 4.6-Inch Android Prepaid Phone with Triple Minutes.
Motorola Moto E Android Prepaid Phone with Triple Minutes (Tracfone)
TracFone LG 306G No Contract Phone - Black.
LG Sunset L33L White Android Prepaid Phone with Triple Minutes (TracFone)
You can search more on 'safelink compatible phones' on internet.
