So I managed to smash my phone screen today and the screen has completely blacked out as well meaning I can't unlock my phone or connect it up to my laptop to back it up or take files off of it before I send it off to get fixed. Does anybody know of a way to get around this? I've got a lot of photos on there that I thought were saved to my memory card but apparently they're not. My phone is a Sony Xperia XZ Premium, any help would be greatly appreciated!

https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2786395 heres the remote control tool i used. it may or may not work and if it doesn't i have no idea if you can enable debugging via recovery with a sony phone or the keypresses to do so im sure if someone you know has a similar phone you can find out easily enough.

Thanks for the help, only found out about the USB Debugging after searching for ways to unlock my phone last night. Definitely going to be using this from now on. Saw this tool yesterday but thanks for sending me the link.

there's likely a youtube or online guide or ask on XDA/the subreddit for your phone brand/model someone will be able to provide the button combo.

How is the screen locked? If it's swipe or PIN/password you could likely hook up a mouse/keyboard with OTG, use that to unlock, then swap to a data cable on a computer. If it's pattern you could technically do it with a mouse, but might be difficult unless you can hook it up to a TV out thing which may or may not exist for your phone

Screen is locked with a pin code, I would use the mouse connector but can't see the screen at all so no idea what buttons I'm pushing or what is even happening :( Going to try and link it up to a screen with a HDMI adaptor so fingers crossed!

If it's a PIN you might be able to hook up a keyboard, type the number, and hit enter

Unfortunately, no. You need to have things in place before.

Mirror your phone to your TV using an adapter?

When you drop the device to ground or water, you might see no any difference from the appearance but the LCD Connector is possible to be disturbed. This would cause the Android tablet white screen of death problem. In this case, you need to:

- Turn off your device and remove its back cover. Here, if your battery is removable, you can remove it for your convenience.

- Use a thin and delicate tool to slide out the LCD Ribbon by unlocking it.

- Clean the dust or dirt on the connector and place it back meticulously at its original position.

- Lock the ribbon again and reinsert the battery to your device. Finally turn on the device to see whether you have fixed the white screen problem.

If you are not good at this kind of operation, you are strongly advised to turn to a specialist or you may pose a more serious problem.

Next time, remember back up the data in advance to avoid loss more.Only realize how important to keep a back up of your Android data until you lost it. I used MobiKin Assistant for Android ,sync all my data to my computer with one click. You could try it.
